A Chapada Diamantina

/ The Chapada Diamantina was the scene of a devastating mining cycle that began in the 17th century and ended only in 1985 with the creation of the national park. In the last ten years mass tourism has grown in an overwhelming way in the region, with the typical concentrations of structure, income and garbage that this type of posture brings with it. The principle that organized this expedition was to try to understand by walking the relationship that was established between the several settlements that gravitated around Lençóis, one of the richest cities in Brazil duriong the 18th century, following the old roads of tropeiros and miners that formed a exchange net and that today, with the implementation of the motoroad system, are used erratically by the local population. /

(...) De manhã vão embora.

/ A PICNIC. Imagine a countryside road, a clearing in the woods, near the road. The car leaves the road and looks into the clearing. The doors are opened, and a gang of young men goes out. They begin to take baskets out of the trunk with groceries, arm tents, light a fire. (...) In the morning they leave. /

ASSIM EU ANDAVA PELA RUA,

DIVAGANDO SOBRE O ASSUNTO.

O SOL BRILHANDO, A RUA VAZIA

/ So I walked by the street, wandering on the subject.

The sun shining, the empty street. /

/The sun was on our backs but the shadow of the tire extended towards us. /

/Throwing both hands in the canvas bag, holding his breath, he removed the heavy object wrapped in bubble plastic and placed it on the table. For a while, he just stared at it, scratching his chin against the outside of his hand. /
